Inspired By // Antoine Ryan

Out of all the people I have met in my life thus far, one person who I can confidentially and comfortably say that loves and nurtures his craft is my good friend Antoine Ryan. He is constantly on the move always putting things together not only to better his craft but to fulfil his need of self expression. Not everything we make needs to have a backing or a main purpose behind it. When you truly have passion for something, you really just get up and do it just to do it. Antoine's, strongest point is photography hands down but of coarse he wants to branch out and dip his hands into other forms of work to really broaden and better his craft.

This short clip is Antoine's latest pieces that he has put together while experimenting with cinematography. The way it came together was all pretty much a spontaneous action. Basically Antoine and his buddy Jean-Benoit were walking up Mont Royal here in Montreal and Antoine  pulled out his camera and decided to shoot it. There was not much of a sense of direction or a goal of any sort, it was put together from passion and the drive to nurture his craft. Keep in mind, this clip is pretty much just a test shot. And I must say the visuals in this test shot are amazing.

Inspired By // Designspiration

For all the creative heads out there young and old this is something I feel we all can appreciate and feed off of. Not too long ago The Halftime Collective  and I had a bit of a sit down, and really just talked about inspirations, shot out ideas at one another, and just really just took time out to relax and just appreciate all that is creative. And in doing so, he actually introduced me to this website called Designspiration. Designspiration is absolutely amazing it offers so much inspiration for pretty much anything through out the creative process of any project with a design aspect, all the way down to different typography. With it's clean, simple, and minimalist aesthetic it allows its readers to really concentrate and appreciate the content that it holds. I highly suggest you allow yourself to get lost in it. And tell me what you think.

Inspired By.....

To pass the time and in search for inspiration and enlightenment I tend to find myself, flipping through random pages or clicking through random links of just about anything. Never knowing what just might be on the other side. We all need that daily dose of inspiration from time to no matter what our interest may be.
My ipod not only consists of music but it consists of interviews ( audio & video ) of artists that I admire. To me getting to feel the artist behind the music is just as important as listening to their music. To help get a sense of what they set out to do with their music and how their creative process really works.

Inspired By.....

My inspirations are triggered by so many factors, so usually when I get asked " Spencer, what inspires you?" I always give answer. But it just never really seems fulfilling to me, like my words are just not able to complete project how I really feel.

So rather than just telling you I'd rather just share with you what triggers me at random. It can be clothing, paintings, animals, music, anything and everything that involves and artistic element pretty much really sets me off. These photos below are all via Tumblr so unfortunately I have no background on any of them or where their original source is.

Inspired By: Jake Davis

This man has had as much as inspiration in my life as most kids would say Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan. Jake Davis' work is always amazing, his way of capturing culture, style, grace and individuality in every film that he does is truly breathtaking in many ways. Even his 00:30 - 01:00 test shot series are enough to leave you craving and wanting more I highly suggest everyone take a minute and really look into this man and all his work. I promise you wont regret it.
